Like, as he was actually drawing out the design.
“So we’re going to have straight lights and curves and repeating angles but ones that aren’t actually the same”
It looks like a bad topographic map.
I you want the dynamic design but flat LED look it’s not that hard to do.
See? Sure there’s a pretty substantial price gap but it’s a simple design difference.
Maybe they were trying to mimic the headlight but they didn’t need to let the geologist design it.
So yeah, saw one of these today and the tail lights were offensive enough I had to make a post to rant about them.

I think the nose of the original Bolt concept looked better than the production version.
